Hi lovely Room 25,
Another week as we get used to this new reality! I hope you are keeping busy and enjoying the warm weather! Thank you for all the homework submissions and your hard work. Please let me know if you have having any struggles with anything. We are looking forward to a new possible opportunity for our class: Google Meet is getting set up and we are working through the technology and security. It is not ready yet, so please wait for further instructions and emails. I am looking forward to trying this new way of communicating, and it would be such a treat to see your smiling faces! Take care and have a good week! Ms. Prange |

Hello my wonderful students this week!
I hope the weekend was wonderful for your all, and that you got to perhaps enjoy some time outside as the weather starts to become warmer. Thank you for your continued work, I enjoy reading it and seeing what you come up with! Here's another video of just a few things I thought you'd enjoy, and some helpful suggestions as we continue to work through this online learning together! Take care, Ms. Prange |

Dear wonderful students,
I hope all is well at home and you are enjoying your time at home. I wanted to check in and give you a friendly hello with this video. Please feel free to send me an email with your parents permission, or even a quick picture of something you've enjoyed doing with all your time at home! I miss you very much, it's been an adjustment to not be able to see your smiling faces each week. Stay healthy and happy, and be kind always! Kindly, Ms. Prange |

James and the Giant Peach Conclusion
Due to the events that have happened in the past few weeks, Rm 25 was unable to finish our book study on Roald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach". I have kept students reflection booklets for assessment, so the final 3 pages have been attached under this message for students to complete. Students may download and print the pages, or if there is not access to a printer, students can answer on a separate piece of paper (their red homework books would work nicely). I have also included a link to a read aloud of the final chapters that we were not able to read in class. Students are encouraged to colour or doodle while listening to the audio (we practiced this in class and students found it helpful to focus on the words with their ears). Once they've listened to the chapters they may move on the the work sheets and answer the questions. Please do not email or submit student work yet, as we are still working on the most efficient way to handle that. This can be completed over the next few days, and we expect to have a new lesson package available on Monday, April 6th.
Steps:
1. Download "James and the Giant Peach Final Chapters" PDF document (3 pages of reflections)
2. Print off if you have access to a printer. If not, prepare a sheet of paper to write answers on.
3. Open link to James read aloud. Students ended on chapter 30, but may wish to re-read (re-listen) to the earlier chapters to refresh their memories. Chapter 31 starts at 23:40. The next chapters are available on the second link.
4. Listen up to Chapter 36, pause the video (1:54 from the second link), and answer the first two reflection sheets
5. Continue listening until the book is complete (chapters 37-39)
6. Answer the last reflection sheet
Thanks students, and happy reading (listening!) It is not expected that you complete this in one day! Take breaks and make sure to giving your best answers on the reflection sheets!

School Closure Announcement
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 all classes across schools in Alberta have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Children are not to attend school.
Parents can view information on our main web page at cbe.ab.ca. for the most up to date and accurate information.
Once determined, we will send out a School Messenger outlining a schedule for picking up student belongings. Any items belonging to the school such as library books, text books, and musical instruments will need to be returned when parents come to pick up their students belongings. Please take a moment to ensure that you have any school items ready to return to the school.
We are hopeful to begin this ‘controlled school entry’ process asap. You must wait for this message to be sent and only come to enter the school during your provided time. There will be no exceptions to entry to the school.
It is important to note that no parent or student should enter the school with any symptoms of respiratory illness (fever, cough, fatigue, and/or muscle aches).
Thank you for your support.
